King Khaled International Airport Community Facilities

The new town is laid out on a grid-like plan and its center is occupied by the mosque built on a plaza and flanked by a hotel, administrative, cultural and commerical buildings. Traffic is distributed from the ring road onto a network of secondary roads which subdivide the town into housing blocks, grouped to form neighbourhoods. Schools have been placed at the center of each neighbourhood. Special care has been taken to ensure that car traffic does not interfere with pedestrian circulation.
