Safari City is the name of the new urban settlement planned 10km far from the city of Arusha, in Northen Tanzania.
The new town is designed for a population of 55.000 inhabitants on a 2,5km2 land. The National Housing Corporation is in charge of the development of the project of Safari City, as well as the one for the second Arusha future satellite, named “Usa River Satellite City”. The main purpose at the basis of the planning activity involving these two new cities is the decongestion of the overcrowded Arusha and the prevention against the spread of unplanned urban settlements.
