In Bobigny, norteast of the inner city of Paris, end station of the orange metro line, buildings are shaped like giant cylinders, stars and unfurled ribbons. The neighbourhood is bordered by small single-family houses. Green spaces, stores, community services and businesses to employ some of the local people were implemented from the beginning. The 'grand ensemble' was built in haste with mass production methods.
