Kozoji New Town is situated in Kasugai City some 20 km north east central Nagoya. The 850- hectares city has a population of about 87.000. Kozoji was developed primarily for supplying houses to industrial workers in the whole of Kasugai City in view of shortage of houses, which was obstructing industrial development in the city.
The centre of Kozijo, though forming part of the Nagoya metropolitan area, has been designed to play a role of a western centre of Kasugai City independently.
