Shenzhen Center for Design is a newly established NGO institute that aims to encourage and promote innovative urban and habitat design. It was founded by Shenzhen Planning and Land Resource Bureau and will operate independently as a non-profit organization to combine various resources such as the government, the industry and the commerce, in order to establish
a treasury of urban design ideas and to offer services that help with the communication, education and propagation for design itself and the designers.

深圳市城市设计促进中心是由深圳市规划和国土资源委员会发起、经深圳市机构编制委员会于2010年12月16日批准（深编[2010]66号），在深圳公共艺术中心加挂牌子、履行“城市设计创新的推广促进工作”职责的机构。作为事业机构的一种改革探索，设计中心将是规土委直接领导下相对独立运作的公共非营利机构。我们的宗旨是整合政府、产业和商业资源，建立深圳城市系统设计思想库，提供设计交流、培训和推广等方面的服务，促进深圳城市空间环境系统设计质量的全面提升，同时促进城市经济转型和设计创意产业的提升。
