The International New Town Institute (INTI) is a platform for research, education and knowledge exchange for New Towns.
In order to improve the quality and sustainability of future New Towns, we can learn from existing New Towns today. Why? Because New Towns have many similarities: they were designed from scratch according to planning doctrines of one specific period, they have experienced relatively fast urban growth, they demonstrate specific demographic patterns and they contain a (…)

Understanding how cities function by studying the use of models in the everyday practice of an urban designer was the topic of discussion at TU Delft University during the second meeting as part of the ‘Urban Planning Next Top Models' series, organized by U-Lab and INTI. “Mapping cities is extremely interesting. It gives you an insight in the urban fabric types”, one of the participants concluded.
This remark touched the importance of the lectures, dr. Meta Berghauser Pont of TU Delft (…)
