'The project consists of a beach tourist complex and two residential neighbourhoods. The beach complex located on a 40 acre site, includes a terrace garden, roof deck, cafeteria, bar, motel, and a series of cabins and lockers for 1296 people. The two neighbourhoods have 91 residential buildings of various heights containing a total of 1474 units. The residential areas also contain a school and commercial district.' from the Aga Khan archive.
IT IS INTERESTING HOW THE NEW TOWN ARCHITECTURE HERE GETS MIXED WITH TOURISTIC PURPOSES. DO THE TOURISTS THEN GET THE SAME CONDITIONS AS THE INHABITANTS? ARE NEW TOWNS BECOMING TOURIST SITES? OR ARE THE REPEDITATIVE BLOCKS SIMPLY THE CHEAPEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY ON TOURISM? (DO SOME OF THE TOURISTS LIVE IN SIMILAR FLATS AT HOME?).
