Research for the New Town Institute will be done by BA, MA and PhD students along with various other researchers. The topics will cover past, present and future new towns throughout the world. INTI’s research aims to deepen insight into the new town phenomenon by studying theoretical and practical new town development. We are also concerned with the specific conditions and experiences of their initial development and their social strengths and weaknesses as compared against existing cities and towns. The New Town Institute is especially interested in the role of the different actors in their development such as public authorities, citizens, companies and special interest groups.
