Masterclass ’Van wie is de Stad?’
In commission of the municipality of Almere, INTI is organizing a masterclass entitled ‘Van Wie is De Stad?’ (Who owns the city?) for municipal employees (policy makers and advisors).

Masterclasses
Irregularly organized masterclasses with internationally reknowned designers or scholars, open to students interested in New Town related subjects.

PhD meetings
Yearly international meetings for PhD kandidates studying New Town related subjects.

Summer School Almere 2013
An important aspect in the planning of a New Town is the planning of health care services. Many New Towns have a progressive attitude towards health care. In some New Towns, experiments are undertaken to organize health care in new and innovative ways. In some cases even a totally new health care system is developed from scratch. NieuweStedenStudies (offered in Dutch) will search for the characteristics of the suburban city. What opportunities are there and how should we develop New Towns in the future? How can we organize and shape the physical restructuring? What social measures can stimulate a vital city? In the second semester of the academic year 2011 – 2012, INTI, the Graduate School for the Social Sciences (UvA), and TU Delft will offer a lecture series for master students. This series can be attended by students from UvA and TU Delft, but students from other universities are also welcome. The content will focus on the planning and (re)design of New Towns all over the world as well as sociological and cultural aspects of new urban environments.
